THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE....

Congratulations on attracting so many comments Tony.

It's good to be able to tell others of the way council is treating us.

I will certainly post news and comments to it !

Guess what? – more bad news !

I bumped in to one of the ex office staff where I work today. She said our company had lost a few of the areas that we are working in because of the new contract and this would affect my blocks.

It appears that I have to go and work for another new care agency if I want to stay with my service users.

What are the council trying to do to me?
What are the council trying to do to the people I look after?

Are they deliberately trying to upset us?

Are they deliberately picking on us?
First of all, a 30% pay cut, secondly, IF I manager to stay a carer, I will have to transfer to another care agency because of toopee to stay with my service users?

I don’t want to change agency.

I am happy with my wages, I am happy with service users, I am happy with the agency I work for.

Are all these changes for the good?
If so perhaps Curly, Larry and Mo (AKA Antrobus, Hunter and Brazil) be able to tell me how?

I have served this city as a loyal carer for a number of years (on less money than them).

I think I am entitled to some explanation.
PS I am a council tax payer - so I am demanding an answer...

I am a social care manager.

I just can't believe where they are coming from on this one.

How can they disrupt so many vulnerable people?

Yes and I am DEMANDING to know what the hell they are up to.

I am also a tax payer. I object to my hard earning money being used to feather the nests of Social Services and P.C.T. managers also the allowances for so called 'Coucillors'.

YOU need to take some Counsel yourselves.

These are very vulnerable Liverpool Citizens and care staff you are putting at risk.

People you are not even fit to wipe there boots.

GIVE US THE ANSWERS YOU FACELESS PEOPLE instead of pocketing MY MONEY yourselves.

If a Senior Manager of Social Services took a pay cut of 30% they would be left with about £1,850 a week.It I took a 30% pay cut I would be left with about £154 a week. Why is that? I do all the 'dirty jobs' they do exactly what? Beside upset a lot of vulnerable people?

Its not just Cannes and other Jollies' our masters think they have a right to. Perhaps we should also remember the 'Jaunts' our dear friends at Social Services believe they also have the right to. What about the recent visits to China- Shanghai by Mr Hunter and Mr Antrobus? No doubt all expences paid. What the hell do they think they are achieving? Maybe thats where the learned the trick of cutting care workers pay so there would be more left it the pot for more 'Jaunts'. Thats how we care for vulnerable people and their carers in Liverpool. BLOODY IMMORAL !!

Bet Tone and Dave had a wonderful Chinese take away in Shanghai.I know of an 86 year old lady who looks after her 89 year old severly disabled husband herself because she can't get the help she needs. Enjoy your Sweet corn soup and Crispy Duck gentlemen.

I dont understand. How can they pay care workers 30% less pay? We have a minimum wage in this Country.

I suppose all the cash went to pay off Henshaw £340K and everything else he got.

Not to mention Parker selling off sites cheap to his mates like the second Beetham tower that should have brought £9M into the Council's bank account

The sad thing about all this is............THEY DONT EVEN SEEM TO CARE ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK.

Re anonymous comment.............. "Any dream will do "...... Thats about all potential service users in Liverpool can do...DREAM....... about care......their money has been spent on the choosen few........Senior SS managers.. and Councillors

Cllr Antrobus said last night “The Government are asking us to give value for money and that is what we are giving. We are making sure the tax payer only pays for the service it receives.” ............Apr 30 2007

Cllr Dave Antrobus, executive member, told the meeting the council can not intervene because responsibility will be taken away by the Government watchdog, the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI)......Jun 8 2007
Hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm........DOES HE KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT ??

Caring, sharing Liverpool. Horrendous!

It's OK for Councillor Antrobus and Co. to take these decisions and vote these thinks through, but when they seem to go wrong, with demonstrations on the streets, MP's lobbying Central Govt. and jaw dropping bad press (on the lead up to Capital of Culture), they hide like cowards behind watchdogs like CSCI instead of trying to address the situation.

What sort of people are running this city?

ANTROBUS and the Director HUNTER should get out of the blame culture and face up to the problems, whoever is at fault – SORT THESE PROBLEMS OUT BEFORE IT GOES TOO FAR.

AFTER ALL, IS THIS NOT WHAT THEY ARE BEING PAID TO DO?

REMEMBER MR HUNTER AND COUNCILLOR ANTROBUS:-
IT WILL BE YOUR HEADS THAT WILL ROLL WHEN IT GOES WRONG. . . . .

Regarding Cllr. Antrobus's attempt to distance himself from the decisions made……………… the following is taken from
LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCILS WEB SITE............

Select committees
Select committees do not make decisions, but they have the power to review the decisions that have been made or actions that have been taken.
They can 'call-in' decisions, which gives the committee the opportunity to question why a decision has been made.
It also means they can gain a clearer understanding of how the decisions can affect individuals.

The aim and role of select committees includes:

holding the executive to account
conducting policy review exercises
reviewing service performance
contributing to audit exercises and inspections and service improvement reports
carrying out external scrutiny
devising and pursuing an annual work programme.

Cllr. ANTROBUS……..AND OTHER RELEVANT ELECTED MEMBERS OF THE SUB COMMITTEE…………YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE.
WAIT UNTIL THE TIME FOR YOUR NEXT ELECTION TO THE COUNCIL ………SEE WHAT PEOPLE THINK THEN.

In case you havn’t realised we are the ‘REAL’ people of Liverpool. We care for real people unlike you (apparently) . We are real people, with real families. We have kids to feed, we have mortgages to pay. We face 30% pay cuts thanks to you lot!
