Guys,

Merseytravel have disagreed with closing the Strand for three days in order to keep the event in the city centre.

I have requested this in writing by end of week.

It is likely I will need a high level phone call to bottom this out and if no change can be agreed then we either go to the parks or cancel.

I would appreciate if one of you would assist with a call to Neil Scales next Monday if as I expect we get a negative written response.

Cheers

Ok, provide me with a brief that I might ask colin (presumably Colin Hilton) to pursue

And Forde's deputy gave another warning a year later….

Strategic Partners &Director briefing

We need to make this a priority as based on current information we as events team have extreme difficulty in staging the festival in this city for 2007.

Director level understanding and input is essential at this stage.

We are approaching the point where we will not meet with license conditionsand as such the most senior support input and understanding is essential

They knew all along and did nothing to help but reduce the budget to an impossible level.

They wanted the Mathew Street Festival to fail.
