THIS COMMENT WAS POSTED ON THE HENSHAW AND THE EVIL CABAL BLOG, ABOUT SIR DIDDY BEING THE HIGHEST PAID BUREAUCRAT IN THE COUNTRY WITH HIS £340,000 PAY OFF. IT DESERVES A WIDER AUDIENCE, SO WE ARE REPEATING IT HERE:

I am a care worker in Liverpool.
I work hard looking after the elderly people I care for. We all do.
The council are going to cut my wages by almost 30% in July for me to do the same job as I am doing now.
They have massive wages whilst I go and clean peoples backsides and take a massive pay cut.
Dont I provide a valuable service to my community?
Well the council bossess obviously dont think I do.
I earn just above minimum wages already, If they cut my wages, I will have no choice but to leave my job and work somewhere else.
Does anyone else know what is going on at the council?
Have a look at this site: http://liverpoolcareslaves.blogspot.com/2007/04/minimum-wage-vs-maximum-wage.html
The council bosses are earning over £100000 pounds a year. Why can't they take a pay cut?
AN EXCELLENT QUESTION, STANFORD 88.
WE WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT AT NEXT YEAR'S COUNCIL ELECTIONS, THE LABOUR PARTY HAS A MANIFESTO COMMITMENT TO FREEZE THE WAGES OF ALL COUNCIL STAFF EARNING ABOVE, SAY, £100,000 A YEAR. WE WILL SEE WHAT THE PEOPLE OF LIVERPOOL MAKE OF THAT RADICAL POLICY.
AND IF STANFORD 88 WANTS TO POST ANY MORE COMMENTS, THEN BE OUR GUEST MATE - WE WILL GIVE YOU A PLATFORM.

If the Labour Party ban wage rises above £100,000 they would lose most of the London Vote!
What would Red Ken do then?
Hi Mildred - don't let cynicism get in the way of your usual clear-sightedness. We don't know of any councillors in Liverpool who are earning more than 100 grand a year. Far from it. We do, however, know several council employees who are earning above 100 grand, for whom a pay freeze in Liverpool would involve no hardship. (and bring a lot of pleasure) We were expecting people to argue for a pay CUT for these EMPLOYEES, rather than a much more restrained freeze. We weren't expecting to have to deal with the pay situation in other cities too! trying to stay focussed, we were....
I heard the council is going to carry out a job evaluation scheme to make sure the pay suits the job surley that will sort out the high earners? or will they be excluded from the scheme?
I stand corrected Mr Parrish47, I did not read your words correctly.
Of course if a true evaluation of jobs in the council were made the caring profession would be one of the main winners, sadly the top earners such as a Chief executive and the cling ons, will not be part of the job evaluation scheme.
I recall when Henshaw started in Liverpool, he was earning MORE than the Prime Minister at the time.
Who actually can do anything about the disparity in earnings that is so evident within the council but also within areas such as the caring proffession?
If Labour have this in their manifesto they will surely win the support of pressure groups and trade unions?
If Labour focus a bit more in the direction of elderly care both in and out house, they will really worry about getting old in Liverpool.
Tell the elderly who cannot get a care package, tell the carer who is paid a pittance, tell them all just how much this Liberal Democrat controlled administration are paying out to Hilton and the remaining EVILCABAL.
Maybe then people will realise just how disgusting these people are for taking such huge salaries from the needy people of Liverpool.
i think we must ask the opposition to voice these views, which would be undoubtedly extremely popular with the good people of our city - who love fairness and justice and despise privilege and discrimination. We should be having a word with Councillor Anderson and telling him to go for these policies to embarrass and expose the hypocrisy of the cabalists. perhaps even the Echo might then wake up? Put our faith and trust in democracy and we will win through....
I am an optimist by nature but even I have no optism in the Echo ever publishing the truth about their mates in the town hall!
THE IN HOUSE CARERS WON'T BE WORKING IN HOUSE AFTER THE ELECTIONS!!!
KEEP WATCHING THIS SPACE
I am a carer. I am paid the minimum wage.My bosses and senior social service managers are paid £100,000 and more. There are at least 1/2 dozen of them. How maany carers like me could be paid the minimum wage to look after so many waiting service users if we just ****** off a couple of the hangers on?
£100,000 salaries for managers caring for people? Bloody corrupt. Every single one of them. Immoral. What a City!. Who counts? Kids no......Elderly no....Just the 'in crowd' on wonderful unearned highly inflated salaries. You notice not one of them try and defend their pay against lowly paid real care workers.Parasites every single one of them. Hope when they need carers they get what they deserve.Contempt !!
Hi Tony.
Thanks for your support.
I attended a meeting in the North of the city last week organised by the Liverpool Care Slaves United.
Over 100 people showed up and we met a local labour councilor Joe Hanson.
I spoke to carers from all different parts of the city who are all in the same position - facing about 30% PAY CUT !
The Labour Party cant believe that the council are trying to force such cuts through on the private sector workers and they are vowing to help us in our struggle for equal rights of pay.
If you dont mind I would like to take this opportunity to tell other care workers that are concerned about what the council are doing to contact Joe Hanson.
His email address is :

The same answers keep coming back on this when we ask why is the council changing the contract?
Answers.....
1) The council are overspent and need to find more money to fund the Capital of Culture stuff. I would ask, why target the care services?
2) When they have come up with the idea of this new homecare contract, they have not thought through the knock on effect on the carers and workforce in the city. I would ask, who are the people making these decisions without speaking to us?
3) It is to increase efficiency and is better for the council tax payer. I would ask, why target just the private sector service? Home Help staff are being paid for their spare capacity and also get paid for their traveling time. District nurses and health authority staff get paid for shifts of work, that includes traveling time. WHY ARE WE ANY DIFFERENT?
IT IS NOT EQUAL
IT IS NOT FAIR
Tony, I say :
CUT THE CULTURE BUDGET, NOT THE CARE BUDGET
- and let us continue to do our job caring for the elderly of this city and giving them the time and quality of life they deserve.
